and Other Scams
Spam e-mails are a curse. Trying to sell you
Viagra, cheap Rolex watches or inviting you to visit a porn site
among other unwanted email advertisements.
But then..... there are the SCAM e-mails.... Like this one...... To: xxxxxx@emailaddress.com.au Subject: Your NetBank Account Suspension Alert From: Commonwealth Bank <netbankalert@commbank.com.au> Dear Valued Commonwealth Bank Client, We have recently detected increasing number of attempts to login into your account from different IP addresses and geographical locations. Based on these recent developments, we have decided to suspend your account with immediate effect. However, you can reactivate it using our automated reactivation system. You may do so by clicking <http://celeb9.net/images/.ver/index.htm>Here and submitting the required information. You will have to login before the reactivation process can be initiated. We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and your co-operation in helping us maintain the integrity of your account. We hope that such co-operation will help us provide you with even better service in the future. Thanking you for your co-operation, Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Clicking on that link will take you to a page asking for your bank sign on details... to "confirm" your details. What happens next is that the thief can now milk your bank account dry. And this one....
